Jamaican peppers, ground (Allspice)
This spice comes from the West Indies. Very versatile, it can be used in both sweet and salty dishes. Its fragrance combines aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. While it lends a distinctive touch to Caribbean cuisine, it has been widely adopted in our cooking – especially in holiday dishes like meat pies, braised hams, stews, fruit cakes, etc.
Ingredient: Jamaican pepper (allspice).
